Prove you know her preferences, not her qualities. Anyone can call her beautiful. Knowing she hates surprise parties, or that she wants the day to be quiet, or that she will pretend not to want a fuss and then want a small one, is the actual evidence of paying attention.
Send it at midnight and keep it short. The midnight card is competing with nothing; the 4pm card is competing with ninety messages. Two sentences that arrive first are read properly, which is more than a long one at teatime will be.
